Researchers are continuing to test-run the nuclear fusion reactor facility, the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), to make its auxiliary heating system hotter and more durable, Xinhua reports. The HL-2M Tokamak reactor is China’s largest and most advanced nuclear fusion experimental research device. Scientists hope that with the help of this device, a powerful clean energy source can be mined.
In this technique the nuclear fusion reaction is mimicked. This is what powers the actual Sun and uses hydrogen and deuterium gases as fuel. That is why it is called artificial sun or artificial sun. It was designed and developed by Chinese. EAST has been used by scientists around the world to conduct fusion-related experiments since 2006.

According to the report of the South China Morning Post, researchers have run this artificial sun at 70 million degrees. At this temperature, this machine has been successful in running for 1,056 seconds i.e. 17 minutes, 36 seconds. On the other hand, talking about the actual Sun, it generates a temperature of about 15 million degrees in its core.
Let us tell you that 10,000 Chinese and foreign scientists have worked together in making this artificial sun. According to Song Yuntao, deputy director of the Institute of Plasma Physics at the Hefei Institute of Physical Science, it is expected that by 2040, electricity can be generated from this artificial sun.
