Cano Cristalus is a natural phenomenon and wonder located in the Meta department of Colombia, within the Serranía de la Macarena National Park. Canoe is a section of river within Crystal Park that extends over 62 miles (100 kilometres). For six months of the year the tributary looks like any other river, but between the months of June and November the river comes alive with shades of yellow, blue, green, red and black.
The 2.5-mile (3-kilometer) section of the river consists of waterfalls, designated swimming areas, rapids, fast-flowing water, small circular pits or holes, which are knocked into each other by cliffs or cliffs. The magic of the delicate ecosystem is that it changes every year – with each rainy season the river is a little different from the previous year, with different colors and movement of the river.
