The festival of light, Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is celebrated every year on the seventh day of Shukla Paksha of Paush month, which is on Sunday, January 9, 2022, this year. On this auspicious day the 10th and last Guru of the Sikhs, the great Sant Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born. Thus this festival is celebrated as his birthday.
The great saint Guru Gobind Singh ji was born on the seventh day of Shukla Paksha of Paush month in the year 1666 in Patna city of Bihar. His father’s name was Guru Tegh Bahadur and mother’s name was Gujri. He was known as Gobind Rai in his childhood. His childhood was spent in Patna only. He did great things for Sikhism and took it to greater new heights. It was the great saint Guru Gobind Singh Ji who had completed the Adi Shri Granth Sahib Ji.
