When is Bhai Dooj?
This holy festival of Bhai Dooj is celebrated every year on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. Which is celebrated just two days after the holy festival of Deepawali. And this year Bhai Dooj is on 6th November 2021 i.e. the day is on Saturday. According to mythology, worshiping Yamraj also has special significance for the long life of the brother.

Bhai Dooj worship method-
Sisters, decorate a plate with things like fruits, flowers, lamps, Akshat, sweets, betel nut etc. And at the same time, keep the circle as well, because giving a circle to a brother is considered an inheritance. After this, after lighting a lamp of ghee, perform aarti of the brother and after seeing the auspicious time, apply tilak. After applying tilak, offer paan, sweets etc. to the brother. And as a gift to the brothers and sisters, give some gift or the other.
Mythology –
On this day Yama, son of Suryadev came to visit his sister Yamuna’s house. Then in the welcome of Yama, sister Yamuna had honored him by applying tilak on his forehead. Pleased with all this, brother Yama asked Yamuna to ask for a boon. Then sister Yamuna took a boon from him to come every year on this date and get Tilak. Since then this holy festival is celebrated every year on this date i.e. on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month.
